Mobile home fire in Luella

LUELLA, TX -- Fire crews from Sherman and Tom Bean were busy Wednesday afternoon after a mobile home caught on fire. The initial call came in around 2 p.m. for a home on Nichols Road in Luella.

Authorities say it started when a small grass fire spread to the home. No one was home but the structure was fully engulfed.

Authorities say they have received several calls in the past about fires at that location. They're still looking into the cause.

Grass fires on Highway 69/75

BRYAN COUNTY, OK -- High winds caused several grass fires along Highway 69/75 Wednesday afternoon. Witnesses reported at least four different fires burning at one time, which left patches of scorched grass along the highway shoulder.

Firefighters say the windy weather made small sparks spread more quickly.

No structures were threatened with these, but each fire kept crews from Calera, Colbert, and Denison busy most of the afternoon.
