Brutal Assault under Investigation

Video will be available shortly.

12-15-04 – Bryan County authorities are investigating a possible abduction from the Choctaw Gaming Center near Durant. A woman says she was taken against her will Tuesday night and sexually assaulted.

The victim told investigators a man followed her out of the casino and abducted her as she walked to her car in the parking lot. Authorities are viewing surveillance video Wednesday, to determine if the incident was caught on tape.

The woman’s claim has not yet been verified and the investigation is in the preliminary stages.

According to an incident report, the attack allegedly happened between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. The victim says the man drove her to another location, sexually assaulted her, and then used a vehicle to run over the woman.

The incident was reported to tribal police by hospital personnel after midnight. The Choctaw Nation told First News they have a description of the suspect, but will not release it yet.

No arrests have been made. The FBI may be called in to investigate. The casino is on tribal property and falls within federal jurisdiction.
