Teen Sentenced to 92 Years in Prison

11-2-04 – A Sherman teenager receives a stiff sentence on drug charges in Grayson County. Jokari Barnum was sentenced to 92 years in prison on Friday.

Authorities say the 18-year-old had become a menace for local officers; committing a number of drug-related offenses over the past two years.

He was sentenced Friday to the maximum penalty for his crimes, including three 20 year terms for possession of cocaine, ten years for deadly conduct and ten years for failure to appear in court.

Barnum was also fined a total of $7,000. His sentences will run concurrently. Barnum was also sentenced to 2 years in state jail on a charge of evading arrest.
