11-3-04 - In the race for the District Four Congressional seat in Texas, a long-time Democrat turned Republican wins re-election.

Ralph Hall beat Democrat Jim Nickerson and Libertarian candidate Kevin Anderson. The 81-year-old will serve his 13th term in Congress.

Hall became a Republican just after the first of the year, throwing his support behind President Bush. He said he was also frustrated with the redistricting battle in Texas.

In August, he attended his first Republican National Convention and in January, he’ll start a new two year term in the US House of Representatives.

Hall was endorsed by President Bush and House Majority leader Tom Delay.
