11-5-04 - The Pottsboro High School was vandalized overnight. It appears to be the work of a student who hid inside the building after class.
A custodian discovered the vandalism in the high school office on Friday morning around 5:30. The vandal had broken out four, torn up a dozen ceiling tiles and damaged a computer. It appears a baseball bat from a trophy case was used to cause the damage.
There are no signs of a forced entry, so they believe the vandal could have hidden in the bathroom after school let out. A sprinkler pipe and ceiling tiles in three different rooms were all disfigured, leading school officials to believe a student hid inside the ceiling until the building was locked.
School officials don’t have a total amount yet on the cost of the damages.
