11-15-04 – The Denison City Council is considering a bond election to raise money for road repairs.

At Monday night’s meeting, the council is expected to vote on whether to call a bond election for February in order to raise 6.4 million dollars for street construction projects.

If passed, it would create a two cent property tax hike per $100 in appraised value for Denison home and business owners.

A four cent tax passed by voters more than 20 years ago will expire later this year.
