Gordonville Man Busted for Prescription Meds

1-19-05 - Grayson County narcotics agents arrested a 53-year old Gordonville man Tuesday night for selling the drug Oxycontin out of his home in Gordonville.

The deputies executed a search warrant in the 700 block of Howard Road in Gordonville. The found over $2,000 in cash, 6 pills of the painkiller, and numerous empty prescription pill bottles.

Paul Vernon Raborn Sr. was arrested and taken to the Grayson County Jail and charged with Manufacture and Delivery of Controlled Substance, and Abandon/Endangering a Child.

Authorities say Raborn had obtained the prescription pills through a variety of ways, including under his own name.

According to narcotics officers, Oxycontin is a time release pain killer drug users will grind up and then mix, inject, or snort it. When it is crushed, it gives the person an 8 to 12 hour high and is then considered as an opium base. It is very addictive and could be fatal if other medical problems are present.
