1-21-05 - A young woman from Marietta has undergone a potentially life-saving lung transplant. It happened 3 months after First News told you about Lisa Parker and her family's extraordinary attempts to arrange the transplant.
Lisa suffers from Cystic Fibrosis and her lungs would only function at 30 percent capacity. Her family paid for two billboards along I-35 near Purcell and Norman that asked for people to commit to donating lungs for Lisa.
They finally got the call Thursday night - that a pair of lungs were ready for transplant. Lisa is in critical but stable condition following the overnight procedure in Oklahoma City. But the family may never know if the billboards helped lead to the transplant.
Tune into First News at 5 and 10 for reaction from Lisa's family.
