Search Off for Missing Pilot

Video will be available shortly.

1-23-05- The search for a missing single-engine aircraft was suspended today after authorities found no trace of the plane or the 73 year old Muskogee physician who was flying it.

The small aircraft piloted by Doctor Jack Nolen disappeared on January 14th after it left Paris, Texas, on a flight to Shawnee.

The search was focused on a heavily wooded area in Hughes County
west of the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant where air traffic
controllers last picked up a signal.

Civil Air Patrol Major Charles Newcomb says there are no plans to reopen the search unless something significant develops.

Newcomb says aircraft and ground search teams combed more than
eight-thousand square miles in southeastern Oklahoma over nine days
but found no trace of the missing plane.
