Surprise Awaits Sherman Family

Video will be available shortly.

01-28-05 – Students from Austin College’s Habitat for Humanity are giving the home of a Sherman family a makeover. A surprise awaits Steve and Sandy Cobb, who will return from Russia next week with two new family members. The Cobb’s, who already have five biological children, are adopting two young boys from an orphanage in Russia.

Habitat for Humanity, as well as friends and church members are also taking part in the effort, turning the master bedroom in the house into two rooms to make space for the new arrivals, and giving the house a fresh coat of paint.

In addition to their hard work, $22,000 have been raised to help pay for the Cobb’s trip to Russia.

Lowe’s donated all the paint and materials for the Cobb’s house, which is located in the 700 block of West Brockett.
