ARDMORE, Okla. -- The 2007 National Weimaraner Championships are taking place in Ardmore. Tourism officials are saying when the competition wraps up, 2,000 people from all over the country will have passed through Ardmore.

The actual dog show took place on Friday at Hardy Murphy Coliseum. Since Saturday, the Weimaraners' hunting skills have been put to the test at the Lake Murray Trial Grounds.

Competitors from as far as California, Minnesota, and even Vermont came down to Ardmore to see their dogs compete.

Pamela Dietz drove from Vermont to take part in the festivities.

"Two thousand miles getting here…I currently have a dog that’s in the top ten in the country. I drove to see her compete."

The competition is set to end this weekend.
