1-31-05 - Pornography inside a local public library is raising public concern. A woman says her children twice saw people surfing pornographic website inside the Ardmore library recently.

But library officials say preventing that type of behavior isn't easy. Around 200 people use the free internet access on the computers everyday. But the library hasn't installed content filters, due to past problem where the software blocks legitimate sites that are used for research.

Library officials are looking into solutions. In the meantime, they've moved all the computers to locations where the staff can view all the screens at all times.

They also say cases of visitors viewing obscene material is a rare occurrence.
