Scattered showers and storms could become strong to severe this afternoon into the evening. Primary threats are large hail and heavy rainfall causing flooding in poor drainage areas. Damaging winds are included as well and an isolated tornado possibility is very low but not eliminated.
The Texoma Area Chapter of the American Red Cross has received two award recognitions from the Southwest Service Area of the American Red Cross.
The Star Award was presented to the chapter for its response in deploying a special "strike" team to "serve in multiple disaster operations with little notice" during the hurricanes in Florida. The second award was individual awards to the strike team disaster volunteers who responded to the November 22 tornadoes in Louisiana.
