2-3-05 - A Sherman couple could lose custody of their son after Child Protective Services claimed the boy was spanked too hard. CPS was in court today showing evidence that they believe shows the father was abusive to the boy.
The man admits he used a belt to discipline the child but his relatives say it never got out of hand. The boy’s school notified CPS after noticing whelps on the child’s backside.
The hearing is taking place in the 15th District Court and will resume tomorrow afternoon. Once it is complete, the judge will decide who gets temporary custody of the boy.
