2-7-05 - Sherman city leaders voted down a city ordinance Monday night that would have limited the amount of pets a person could own inside city limits.

City councilman Steve Jonse wanted to limit pet owners to a total of four dogs or cats. Sherman now allows people to own as many as 12 pets.

The ordinance came about after complaints in a neighborhood over a home with several pit bulls. Jonse was concerned about health and safety issues.
