Ardmore Livestock Ban Proposed

Video will be available shortly.

2-8-05 - Livestock within the city limits of Ardmore could soon be outlawed due to growing concerns over health and safety issues.

A city focus group was asked to study the issue last year. They found that the larger animals are causing health problems for neighbors and headaches for law enforcement. Ardmore police officers are often called out to round up loose cattle or horses.

The city council will look over the focus group's study for the next few weeks. They hope to vote on the ordinance by May. In addition to banning livestock, it would force small pet owners to register their animals. That would allow the city to make sure dogs and cats have their rabies shots.
