Hostage Situation Ends Peacefully

Video will be available shortly.

02-09-05 – Law enforcement was able to peacefully end a hostage situation in Ardmore Wednesday morning. For just over an hour, a man held his infant child by his side while threatening authorities with a gun.

The incident occurred at Chickasaw Hills Housing Development. Police and tactical officers filled the street after responding to a domestic dispute at the home of 32-year-old James Lamberth. Lamberth threatened to shoot himself and officers with a semi-automatic pistol. Lamberth did release the infant after 15 minutes of negotiations in exchange for a phone. After further negotiations, Lamberth gave himself up peacefully. He will be taken for a psychological evaluation.

The infant is back with it mother and is doing fine. The mother and another child had already left the home before the situation.
