02-11-05 – A district judge has denied a motion that would reduce the bond of Kim Stephens. Stephens is accused of killing 2-year-old Jorden Saager, whom she was babysitting. The judge ruled if Stephens was let out of jail, she was a threat to run from prosecution.

Stephens has been in the Cooke County Jail for over a year with a bond set at $1 million. Her attorneys tried unsuccessfully to have it reduced to $100,000.

Stephens’ mother has tried to pay the bond before but failed.

The trial is set to begin May 9th.
