02-11-05 – 1-800-FLOWERS is ready for the rush of orders that comes every year with Valentine’s Day. Agents at the Ardmore Hub are prepared to spend up to 16 hours a day on the phone taking orders.
The Ardmore agents take phone calls from around the world and by the time Valentine’s Day finally rolls around, they will have spent over 60 hours on the phone and placed almost 400,000 orders.
The center is offering a full menu of food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in order to keep their agents on the phone as much as possible. The center has doubled the amount of agents over the last two weeks from 300 to 600.
Last year, approximately four million roses were sent in the U.S. along with 25 tons of chocolate.
