SHERMAN, Tex. -- Scary moments for Albertson’s employees in Sherman after an armed robbery. Police say the store was robbed late Saturday night.

They say a black man walked into the store carrying a semi-automatic hand gun and say he demanded money from one checker. Authorities say the man attempted to shoot one employee, but the gun didn't go off.

Police say the suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of money wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt and a black ski mask.

"They did hand him the cash that was in the cash drawer. It's reported that he did attempt to fire his pistol. Whether it misfired or was unloaded we don't know at this time," said Sgt. Bruce Dawsey of the Sherman Police Department.

A spokesperson for Albertson’s says no one was harmed during the incident. They say staff members are trained to deal with situations like this quickly and effectively. The spokesperson also says counseling is available to store employees.

What about the employees?? Does any one care that someone could have died?? Think about the whole picture.

My son works at Albertson's but he was not there that night. I asked him if they were trained what to do in the case of a robbery and he said they were not. If that's true it would contradict the manager's story. Maybe time for some re-training.

Chris Rodgers, I was not making any critical statment at all but if this person knew this had been happening before why in the world did he or she not say something to the police

To all who are "Anonymous". Grow some stones and let people know who you are and where you are from. It is easy to make critical statements about others when you hide behind an "Anonymous" posting.

Anonymous, if you knew this had been going on for quite a while why did you not call the police so they could investigate who it might be a catch them before someone DOES get killed

This has been going on for some time. A friend of mine has said that a car full of black men has once before blocked him into his parking space by parking behind him. The passenger and driver both got out of the car and started to walk up the the windows of his car. He also said that they statrted to pull something out of their coats, and that is when he jumped the curb with his car to get away. Luckily he got away, but he said things like that happen all the time in the parking lot. I'm not suprised that some thugs get brave enough to go into the store. I really love shopping at Albertsons for the fact that it is quiet and close to home. I really wish that there would be more security there, especially at night.
