PITTSBURG COUNTY, OK -- Authorities in Pittsburg County are continuing to search for an inmate who escaped earlier this month after using a cell phone belonging to the county's treasurer.

The Pittsburg County Sheriff says James Bever, 25, of McAlester, fled on December 4th from the Pittsburg County Courthouse while working as a trustee with the Pittsburg County Treasurer's Office.

Court documents show Bever was sentenced in November to ten years in prison after being convicted of first-degree burglary and assault and battery.
