SHERMAN, Tex. -- The first lady of Aggieland is spending the holidays with one Sherman family. Reveille VII, the Texas A&M University mascot, needed a place to stay, and assistant mascot corporal, sophomore Jess Terrell, got put on dog duty.

That means Reveille rules the house. She will be Terrell's constant companion until December 30th. He cannot leave her alone. She has to be at his side everywhere he goes.

Weekly professional grooming and regular physical activity are also part of the duty.

"Well it's a great honor, but it's also a big responsibility. I worry that if anything happened to her... I mean it would be big news at College Station." Terrell says.

Terrell says Reveille is enjoying her holiday break. It's the only time during the year that she's free from making appearances.
