Voters Pass $20 Million Bond

2-19-05- Voters in Gunter, Texas went to the polls Saturday to make a $20 million decision. They turned out in record numbers and passed the school bond, which will help alleviate overcrowding in the schools.

195 people voted "yes, " while 118 voted against the bond. The school board will use the money to expand all of their campuses. They say the schools are overcrowded with students and next school year could be even worse.

Since the bond passed, people who own a $100,000+ home will pay about $340 dollars more a year in property taxes.
