02-21-05 – Week two of the Andre Thomas trial began with testimony about Thomas’ mental health leading up to the murders. An ER doctor from TMC who treated Thomas the day before the crime told jurors that he complained of depression and was suicidal.
He also testified that it was not policy to call security at the time and even though Thomas was classified as dangerous, on one was appointed to keep him from leaving.
Testimony also revealed that Thomas visited the Mental Health Facility in Sherman in early March where he said he was “losing it,” but was still able to leave before being treated.
