12-19-04 - A 3-year-old boy was killed overnight in a house fire on 9th Street in Bonham. The young toddler's father and 6-year-old sister were flown to a burn unit in Little Rock, Arkansas. The children's mother and 5-year-old brother made it out with minor burns.
Bonham firefighters got the call around 2:30 a.m. Sunday and when they arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters on the scene report that the father was trying to save the children, but the 3 year old son never made it out of the home. He was discovered inside after firefighters got the flames under control.
Officials are not releasing the names of the victims or the cause of the fire. The state fire marshal is expected on the scene Monday to investigate.
