Two Killed in Fiery Blast

12-30-04 - MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) Officials have identified the two men killed in a blast at a scrap metal plant.

Yaffe Iron and Metals plant board chairman Bob Yaffe says the Ernesto Chavez and Joaquin Prada were killed in the blast.

Prada was operating a forklift that puts aluminum into the furnace. Chavez was working behind the forklift.

Chavez' co-worker Eduardo Jimenez says Chavez was a good person and friendly with everyone.

Officials are still trying to determine what caused the explosion that be heard as far as 50 miles away.

The blast shook nearby house and shattered windows in a five-block radius.
