02-28-05 – The defense team of Andre Thomas began calling witnesses Monday as the trial resumed after a three day break. The defense is trying to prove that Thomas was insane when he murdered his wife and children.

Witnesses testified about Thomas’ strange behavior that continued in jail weeks after the crime. An officer who was watching Thomas said he heard yelling, mumbling, and laughing from inside his jail cell.

An EMT said Thomas frequently referenced the bible in asking for forgiveness.

Prosecutors responded with counterpoints that said people who fear hell usually know when they are wrong.
