1-1-05- Four Sherman families are homeless after an early morning fire New Year's Day at the Diamond Place Apartment Complex on LaSalle Street. Sherman firefighters evacuated 16 apartments around 1:00 a.m.
Firefighters say neighbors noticed fire coming from a second floor apartment in Building E. Four families were forced out of their homes from smoke and fire damage, including a woman and her three-week-old infant. Those families are being helped by the Sherman Red Cross.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
