Mother's Threats Investigated

Video will be available shortly.

3-1-05 – Sherman police and the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services are investigating allegations that a Sherman mother threatened to behead her own children.

The accusations arose last week after two adolescent boys told a counselor at Dillingham Intermediate School that their mother turned them face down on a bed, held a machete to their necks and threatened to cut off their heads.

Police say the counselor notified police and an investigation is underway. Authorities talked to the mother who admitted to the behavior. They say the woman may have been on drugs at the time.

The mother has not been charged, but CPS says they take every allegation seriously in order to assess if there is a real threat.

For now, the children are living with their father.

Texas law states any adult who has reason to suspect abuse or neglect is required by Texas Law to report it.
