OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Spring enrollment at Oklahoma colleges and
universities is at a record high. A preliminary enrollment report from the Oklahoma Regents for Higher Education says spring enrollment rose by one-point-one percent, an increase of 1,865 students. The regents say there are a total of 171,136 students enrolled across the state this spring.
The largest increase is among the state's regional universities
at 2.5%. The state's community colleges have seen a 7/10s of one percent rise in enrollment.
Research universities, Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma, have had an increase of 2/10s of one percent in total enrollment.
Figures for individual colleges and universities were not immediately available.
This is the third consecutive year overall college enrollment has increased.
