Two Children Critically Injured in Wreck

1-12-05 - 5 children riding in the back of a pick-up were thrown from the vehicle when it was rear-ended in Lehigh Tuesday afternoon. Two of those children are in critical condition.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Sandra Kay Yarbrough of Coalgate was waiting to make a left-hand turn on highway 3 when a pick-up driven by Rachel Ann Paterson, 16, rear-ended the other truck. All five children were thrown from the pick-up - one of them was then run over by the 2nd pick-up.

Troopers say Hunter Coslow, age 6, is in critical condition at Children's Hospital in Dallas with head, trunk and internal injuries. Tyler Coslow, age 9, is in stable condition in Oklahoma City. Shaylyn Coslow, age 5, is in critical condition in Dallas. Kendra Coslow, age 8, is in good condition. Chelsea Villaeral, age 7, is also in good condition.

Yarbrough and a passenger in the pick-up are both in good condition.

The 16-year-old driver of the 2nd pickup did not suffer life-threatening injuries. Troopers say it appears she was not paying attention.
