1-14-05 – An Ardmore security guard is being called a hero after helping deliver a baby. Charity Freeman got the call around 8 a.m. that a resident was in labor and needed an ambulance. She arrived at the home to find a woman was on the floor and the baby was coming.

Freeman guards the Chickasaw Hills Community on the southeast side of town.

She had no training at all, but says she just said a prayer and put out her hands and seconds later delivered Tiana Monea Knight.

The mother and baby are both doing find at Mercy Memorial Hospital.

Freeman’s co-workers say they will vote her the next employee of the month. Last year, Freeman saved a little boy from choking to death.
