3-11-05 - A Van Alstyne man was apprehended this week, charged with the largest illegal dumping case ever solved in the city of Allen.
James Heath Worley, 27, was indicted earlier this month by a Collin County grand jury for two state jail felony counts of illegal dumping. The incidents occurred in an abandoned parking lot at the former site of Belt’s Outlet Mall on December 13th and 23rd.
Animal carcasses and produce were among the items discarded.
Collin County Constable Bob Bell’s Office (Precinct 3) investigated the case. The city of Allen, as well as Game Warden LeRoy Thompson of Texas Parks and Wildlife and the Collin County Sheriff’s Office, assisted with the investigation.
The punishment for a state jail felony is for a term no longer than two years and no less than 180 days in jail and a fine not to exceed $10,000 per charge.
