03-11-05 – Andre Thomas was sentenced to death by the same jury that convicted him of murder. The jury deliberated for just 45 minutes before deciding on the death penalty.

Without facing the victim’s family, Thomas made a statement that he was remorseful for what he had done.

Tears of relief and grief were shed on both sides of the courtroom. The father Laura Thomas told Andre before the court that he hopes we will take responsibility for his crime before he is put to death.

Last week, Thomas was convicted for the murder of 13-month-od Leyha Hughes.
