Vegas Weatherman Fired Over Racial Slur

LAS VEGAS (AP) - A TV weatherman in Las Vegas has been fired
for making an on-air racial slur about Martin Luther King. Rob Blair of KTNV was looking ahead to Monday's forecast on Saturday when he called the holiday -- quoting here -- "Martin Luther Coon King Junior Day."

Blair apologized on the air later in the day, calling it an "accidental slip of the tongue."

But the general manager of the ABC affiliate says it wasn't enough to save Blair's job. Jim Prather told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that "this kind of incident is not acceptable under any circumstances."

Blair had been with the station about three months.
