Additional Charges Filed in Death of ECU Player

1-18-05 – The man charged with the hit-and-run death of an East Central University football player will face trial. A Pontotoc County judge made the decision after a preliminary hearing Tuesday morning.

Ammon Dean Reich, of Konawa, has been charged with first-degree murder in the September 19th hit-and-run death of Joseph Tusan, an 18-year-old from Arlington, Texas.

Reich also faces 33 counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon. According to the Pontotoc County District Attorney’s Office, the additional counts stem from the number of times Reich allegedly rammed the victim’s pick-up multiplied by the number of passengers in the truck. Authorities say the pick-up was rammed three times with eleven people inside.
