Bush Addresses Gas Prices

03-16-05 - WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush is urging Congress to pass energy legislation, telling lawmakers to listen to complaints about
rising gasoline prices.

At a news conference today, the president said he is concerned about rising gas prices.

The president's comments come as a Triple-A spokesman said he
wouldn't be surprised to see gasoline prices set a record high as soon as tomorrow.

Justin McNaull says it's only a-tenth of a cent short of the mark now, at two-dollars-five-point-three-cents a gallon.

McNaull says it's all tied to the surging price of crude oil. He says he doesn't see any gouging at the pump.

Meantime, crude oil prices have risen to a new intraday high, topping 56 dollars a barrel.
