VAN ALSTYNE, Tex. -- The Van Alstyne Panthers produce another star student-athlete. Christina Melvin has more with this week’s A+ Athlete.

This weeks A+ Athlete is Brandon Wilkins from Van Alstyne High School. This senior defensive end tackles everything from football players to calculus, and always ends up on top.

Not only is he a four-sport athlete, playing football, basketball, track, and baseball, Brandon also participates in band, the National Honor Society, Spanish club and calculus club. He even finds time to tutor other students.

Brandon is third in his class with a 4.154 GPA and earned second team academic all-state He attributes his success to his strong family values.

It's no wonder his classmates voted him most likely to succeed. He’s already been accepted to the University of Texas and Texas Christian University.

Congratulations to Brandon Wilkins on being named this week’s A+ Athlete.

We'll introduce you to another A+ Athlete every Friday here on First News AM. School officials, coaches, teachers, and counselors are encouraged to send in your nominees.
