4-10-05- Charges have been dropped against an 84 year old grandmother in Madill accused of writing threatening letters to city officials. Daisy Barham spent two months in jail late last year, but Thursday, all charges were dropped against her.
Barham denied writing any threatening letters to city officials, but as a condition of dropping the charges, attorneys obtained a restraining order against Barham. The restraining order prohibits Barham from entering Madill City Hall or going on city property. She is also not allowed to carry a firearm.
Court records show part of the reason for dismissing the case centered on a lack of a handwriting analysis.
