Thomas Asks for New Trial
4-11-05 – Attorneys for Andre Thomas have filed a motion for a new trial. Thomas is on death row; one month after a Grayson County jury found him guilty of capital murder for the killing of 13-month old Leyha Hughes.

4-11-05 – Attorneys for Andre Thomas have filed a motion for a new trial. Thomas is on death row; one month after a Grayson County jury found him guilty of capital murder for the killing of 13-month old Leyha Hughes.

Thomas was also accused of killing his estranged wife and young son.

On Friday, defense attorney RJ Hagood filed a motion for a new trial.

A death sentence allows for an automatic appeal in Texas.

A preliminary hearing date has not been set.
