4-11-05 – New grants will make job training in Grayson County more accessible. A half million dollar grant from the Texas Workforce Commission and the Center for Workplace Learning will provide specialized training for several positions including engineers, maintenance technicians and line supervisors.
“There are a lot of people out there that need to be trained and there’s only so much grant money available,” said Kelly Smith of Denison Industries.
In Texas, 12 million dollars in grant money is available and this is the third grant awarded to Grayson County in just three years.
Six hundred employees from eight companies in the industry sector will benefit from 400,000 training hours.
