4-13-05 - A Healdton man is dead after his motorcycle crashed into the side of a dump truck Wednesday on highway 70. It happened at 3:25pm when Bobby Wayne Nipp was westbound on his Honda Shadow just east of Wilson. A 1996 Ford dump truck driven by George Lynn Lowery of Wilson was crossing the highway, and failed to yield to Nipp.
The 50-year-old motorcycle rider wasn't wearing a helmet and died at the scene. Troopers say the truck driver was at fault. The case will be handed to the district attorney to determine if charges will be filed.
