4-13-05 - Firefighters are still dealing with a wildfire in western Carter County – 5 days after it began. The blaze between Fox and Graham has burned more than 3,000 acres of brush land.

Firefighters say it’s difficult to fight because of the rough terrain. It was sparked on Saturday by an oil well flare. Conditions have been right for fires due to low humidity and high winds.

Firefighters have kept the blaze from burning any structures or oil wells in the area.
