4-13-05 - A former Durant Wal-Mart associate is accused of turning her head while family members made off with merchandise. Police say Sharla Hampton confessed to her bosses after they caught her on tape allowing family members through her checkout without paying for merchandise.
Apparently the scheme has been going on since December. Wal-Mart officials told police that since March alone they estimate that the scheme cost them at least $10,000.
They caught her after a tip from a friend of the family. Police are now investigating those family members who were part of the plan.
