City Considers Pit Bull Ban
4-20-05 - City officials in Atoka say they're considering banning pit bull terriers because of recent complaints about dogs in the town. The city manager says most complaints are about pit bulls without leashes or in yards without fences.

4-20-05 - ATOKA, Okla. (AP) City officials in Atoka say they're considering banning pit bull terriers because of recent complaints about dogs in the town.

City Manager Martha Allen-Barber says most complaints are about pit bulls without leashes or in yards without fences. Allen-Barber says there have been no reports of pit bulls biting anyone.

She says the City Council discussed the issue Monday and plans to vote on it next month.
