Suicide slows traffic on U.S. 75 in Sherman

SHERMAN, TX - Traffic was stopped on U.S. Highway 75 this morning after a woman jumped off the FM 1417 overpass into the northbound lanes around 9:15 this morning.

After jumping, the woman was hit by a car. She was pronounced at dead at the scene. It slowed down traffic for about an hour this morning.

"Highway 75 northbound has been shut down at 1417, and traffic is diverted around and back onto 75 north bound from there," Sgt. Bruce Dawsey of the Sherman Police Department said.

Police say traffic flow should be back to normal now.
