5-3-05 - Bill Magers, candidate for Sherman mayor, is addressing issues from more than a decade ago in the final week of campaigning.
An anonymous person sent copies of court and jail records to media outlets on Monday. They showed a variety of offenses, mostly speeding, but one offense where a DWI arrest in 1993 was plead down to a public intoxication. First News has since learned that Magers plead guilty to a DWI in Dallas County in 1994.
But the Sherman buisnessman says he learned from those mistakes, and hasn't had a single run-in with the law since. His wife backed up those statements, saying she feels this is a personal attack on her husband's campaign.
Early voting ended Tuesday. Polling places open at 7am Saturday.
