ROCKWALL, TX -- Congressman Ralph Hall celebrated Memorial Day Weekend in a unique way Saturday morning.

Hall who just celebrated his 89th birthday decided to take the plunge and go sky diving. The Congressman took flight over Rockwall jumping tandem with an instructor who is a grandfather himself.

Hall says the jump is in honor of all of those who have served our country. Dozens turned out to show their support for Hall, who is the oldest member of congress. After a brief free fall the pair came down to make a textbook landing. Hall, who was a pilot during World War II, was then presented with a pair of Jump Wings from Army Airborne Veterans. The Congressman says he enjoyed the experience

"I want to do it again," Congressman Hall said.

Hall faces fellow republicans Steve Clark and Lou Giglotti in the upcoming primary election.

When no one, including our senators would help us get our son back from Mexico, Ralph Hall stepped up, spent an entire week with me in Washington and got Homeland security to act and get my son back after 14 months in Mexico. I wish he'd run for President!

Too bad he don't care enough about other Americans to not side with the "do nothing" GOP Congress on every vote.

Our homeland isn't Mexico. And if a person doesn't go to Mexico for their drugs, they won't need any help.

What is the real reason for Rep. Hall's skydiving on his 89th birthday? Could it be to distract voters from his age, but to focus on his vigor and ability to serve another two years? Will voters fall for this but look at reality--isn't it time for him to retire and bring new blood to Washington, D.C.

This is pathetic! How can any man feel honored because another man jumps out of an airplane? I could not care less if he gets his kicks this way. We are lost if such an act gets mileage to honor others.

I'd vote for the guy that landed Air Force One in the middle of Times Square to take his wife out for a nice dinner! (Now THAT'S pathetic!!)

I bet you are dumb enough to believe what you posted. The GOP has dumbed you people down so much that pathetic is not a bad enough word to describe you people.

I voted for Mr. Hall the first time for Lt. Governor back in the 70s, and as much as I like him, I voted for Lou Gigliotti, the Tea Party guy, this time. The EPA which Mr. Hall supported is one of the main causes for high gas prics!!

I agree that Hall's time is up, but the EPA has absolutely nothing to do with the high gas prices. Anyone who has paid attention to facts every time gas prices jump, knows what the causes are. From market speculation to global pricing to OPEC & corporate greed. There are plenty of real reasons that gas (Which is based on global oil prices) prices go up & down. Only the kooks who either don't want to know the real causes, and those who only want to place blame on a political party are dumb enough not to realize this.

Notice how gas prices have been going down? Know why? Yep. Global pricing. Economic uncertainty in Europe and Asia are driving global oil prices down. As a result, our gas prices go down. Nothing to do with Obama. Nothing to do with any pipeline. Simply the same thing that makes our gas prices soar. The global market price.

You just don't get it. You should watch him bash the EPA in Committee & tell them how they are killing jobs. Go Ralph, YOU WON!!!

Old Ralphie....he did ok back in the day, but, as others have said on here, it's time to hang it up. He is now like a 48-year-old NFL player, symbolic but not much practical use. We need some fresh blood and ideas to sort out this mess we are in as it seems to be getting only worse by the day. We do not need someone who is on a mission to set a record for outliving their usefulness in congress.

As the saying goes..."No fool like an old fool". As with most career politicians Ralph has proven once again he will do anything to get elected. This takes his normal "glad handing" to a new level!

He apparently will do anything to get re-elected and stay in power. Remind you of anyone else running this year??? He may have changed parties, but he's still got the democrat in him.

Typical career politician. Yes, he has done well serving us but just like the "others" who go to DC, he has decided to make a career of it. This is nothing but a publicity stunt on his behalf. What we need in DC are intelligent, NEW people. Not more of the same that have taken us into bankrupcy; BOTH Democrat & Republican self-centered politicians that would bankrupt their household the way they go through cash!. God help us all, we sure need it!
