5-22-05- The case of a former nurse accused of killing ten patients with lethal drug doses is on hold. 39 year old Vickie Dawn Jackson recently reported hearing voices in jail. Authorities are now trying to determine if she is competent to stand trial.
Jackson has been jailed since 2002 following her indictment in connection with four deaths, including her third husband's grandfather.
She was indicted last year in connection with six more deaths and with injuring an 11th patient who later died.
The former Nocona General Hospital nurse is accused of injecting
the victims with mivacurium chloride, which temporarily halts breathing.
Jackson has maintained her innocence.
