Fannin County Electric Co-Op employee arrested

BONHAM, TX-- A Fannin County Electric Co-Op employee was arrested, Thursday, accused of stealing more than $200,000 from the electricity provider.

Tabitha Caplinger's colleagues say, in her 20 years with the company, they believe she's stolen hundreds of thousands more.

Detective Jason Boyd says he began investigating Caplinger after another co-op employee tipped off police.

Electric company workers say it could take a month or longer to fully audit and know how much money was taken.

Detective Boyd says that this is a unique case for him.

Don't know the current husband. Do know and love the ex-husband and her children. They are good, solid people who are being dragged through the mud with her. She did wrong. She will be handled by the law. Let's support her kids. They are innocent and deserve better from everyone!

I also think the manager was told several times this was going on and didn't do anything about. I think something should be done about this also.

Does the Co-Op still have their deer lease for the employees? This co-op needs to be broken up. Go to their board meeting...nothing but a bunch of clueless mouth-breathers.

I will be surprised beyond belief if you see any news updates on it. The media just wants the initial shock value of the story. Following up might require some actual WORK.
